Back in April 2, 1990. Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort  was opened on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Michael Jackson was the VIP invited guest and he also performed at the opening ceremonies.

This glittering extravaganza reflected some important lessons: Be absolutely confident, think "bigly", act "bigly"

In early 1991, Rachel P Salazar wrote the article "What We Can Learn from Donald Trump" in the opening of which Salazar said:

"In his swift rise to the top, Trump showed his mastery of the art of promotion. With his troubles, he demonstrated the dangers of overleverage. Now he must prove that he is master of the art of surviving."

In this article, Salazar quoted Donald Trump:

"The final key to the way I promote is bravado.  I play to people's fantasies.  People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do.  That's why a little hyperbole never hurts.  It's an innocent form of exaggeration--and a very effective form of promotion."

Some might point out that in 2014, Trump Entertainment Resorts, whose assets consisted mostly of the Taj Mahal, filed for bankruptcy protection but this provided us with another lesson.  Do not be detered by failures, stay confident, continue to think "bigly", act "bigly" and promote like you have never done before.

Fast forward to 2016, Donald J Trump became the 45th President of the United States of America and following his meteoric rise, many had started to blog about what we can learn from him, 25 years after Rachel P Salazar had written about it.

Here are some of the more recent blogs on the subject:
